Brisbane River Dragons invites all clubs to attend the Dragon Boat Regatta at Lake Kawana on Sunday 26 February 2023.
Racing will commence at 8.00am and the event will be staged as follows:
Race Distances: 2000 metres: Mixed - Std Boat (Crew lists MUST include male paddlers)
(Winners of the Mixed Standard Category will also receive the Peter Knight Memorial Trophy)
200 metres: Mixed Std & Sml / Open & Women Small [Premier / Senior (40+) categories]
BCS Small and Junior Mixed Small
Clubs CANNOT use the same paddlers in both Mixed Standard and Small boat categories
e.g Mixed Standard and Mixed Small Senior 40+ Clubs MAY submit multiple entries in Open and Women Small boat categories.
Minimum 3 entries will be required to run each category.
Race Format: Categories with 6 or less entries will be decided upon aggregate times over 2 x Heats.Categories with more than 6 entries will comprise Heats followed by Repechages and Grand Final.
Run Order: Premier Mixed Small then Standard / Junior Mixed Small / Senior Mixed Small then Standard / BCS Premier Women Small / Premier Open Small / Senior Women Small / Senior Open Small

Entries: Please submit all Entries in RevSport by Sunday 12 February 2023.
Crew Lists: Crew Lists and are to be entered into RevSport by Friday 24 February 2023 with 2 x printed copies, plus a
Participant List to be provided to Administration by 7am on Race Day. (NOTE: Crews will be ticked off at Marshalling. Waiver forms are to be submitted for any Come n Try paddlers). Briefings: A Sweeps’ and Managers’ briefing will be held in front of the Finish Tower at 7.30am.
Rules of Racing: Standard Boat / Small Boat ratio for Mixed racing will be maximum 10 men for Standard boats and 5 for Small boats (Drummer and Sweep – any gender).
All clubs shall allow a Provisional Sweep to sweep a race as appointed by the Race Committee. Standard AusDBF Regulations & Rules of Racing will apply, with any variations at the organiser’s discretion.
Numbers: Standard - 16 paddlers plus a drummer and sweep. Small – 8 paddlers plus a drummer and sweep.
Safety: All paddlers MUST be able to swim 50 metres or wear a life vest.
Sweeps: Must be DBQ accredited Level 3 or higher; or designated as Provisional.
Clean-up: All clubs are requested to clean up their area at the end of the day and dispose of rubbish into bags/bins provided. Protests: Must be lodged to the Chief Official in writing within 10 minutes of the Official results being posted. Fee - $50.
